Remember, choosing a videographer should not be entirely based onthe cost but on the quality of their work. Wehave listed some points to help you elemenate the bad from the good.
  • Meet at least two or three videographers

  • How many years have they been in business?

  • Who will be the videographer for our wedding?

  • By looking at their previous videos, is there evidence of a creative mind or are all the videos similar?

    Things to look for when viewing their videos....

    • Smooth and steady camera work.
    • Spontaneous and natural shots.
    • Seamless editing techniques.
    • Good coverage of the ceremony.
    • All the important parts included.
    • Clean titles not too many flashy graphics.
    • Good color and a sharp picture.
    • Good Audio.
  • Too many special effect can distract the viewer from looking at you.

  • Do they charge by the hour? Is there flexibility if you need them for a shorter or longer period of time?

  • How do you know how many pictures to take?

  • Have they attended your chosen venues before? If not, maybe they should visit them beforehand.

  • What makes your videos better or different than anybody else's?

  • What time do you arrive to set-up your equipment?

  • What is included in a package? What additional charges are not included?

  • Have you handled events of my type and size before?

  • What are your criteria for choosing what you would videotape at my wedding?

  • Do you conduct interviews of the guests and wedding party?

  • How many video cameras will cover the wedding?

  • How many people will cover the wedding?

  • Do you bring backup equipment with you?

  • How long have you been a wedding videographer?

  • How many weddings have you videographed?

  • What type of guarantees do they offer?

  • Do you provide a written contract and guarantee?

  • How soon will you be able to see your video proofs?

  • What are the procedures regarding video proofs?

  • What are the procedures regarding delivery time?

  • How soon will you be able to get your video?

  • What is the price per print for different sizes?

  • Is a deposit required? If so, how much?

  • When should the deposit be paid?

  • When is the balance due?

  • Are there any additional charges?

  • What is the policy on refunds and cancellations?
