Insurance
The Wedding
As perfect a day you may plan, not everything always goes to plan.
Surprising as it may seem, few people take out wedding insurance for the
unfortunate mishaps that happen time and time again..
Your wedding day should be one of the happiest days of your
life. A moment to remember forever, but unfortunately things can go wrong.
Imagine your dress being torn or damaged, the photographer not turning up or even worse, having to cancel the big day.
Check to see is covered on the insurance. Most often is is the bride and the bridesmaids but sometimes it can also cover the wedding hire attire.
There are many insurance companies that cover these things and more. If you are travelling overseas to get married, check to make sure your insurance covers you there.
The Wedding Ring
A wedding ring is a symbol of everlasting love and commitment. It is fair to say that insurance is not the first thing that comes to mind when you glance down at the wedding ring on your finger. We know that no amount of money can replace the sentimental values of your wedding ring, but insurance can give you that piece of mind if something should ever happen.
You need to make sure your home insurance covers your ring.
Some insurance's only cover your ring if it is stolen
and not if it is lost. Keep in mind that you’LL need to check
your policy, since a coverage limit may apply for certain
types of personal property (in this case, your ring). If
you want to make sure that your wedding ring is covered
for loss, or if the value of your wedding ring exceeds
the coverage limits on your home insurance
policy, you may want to look into changing policies.
If you are a USA resident you can take out a floater or a
stand-alone policy. A floater provides you
with a specific amount of coverage for your ring based on
its appraised value. Most insurance companies will replace
your ring rather than paying the appraised amount.
A stand-alone policy is a
type of insurance that is specially designed to protect
valuable items. If you purchase either of these policies,
you will have to have your ring appraised by a certified
jeweller.
